Explanation

Numbers on the States indicate the number of friars of the Assumption Province living in that State.

Additionally, there is one friar living in Rome, Italy, one in Mexico, and one in the Philippines.

These statistices are accurate as of January 13, 2017.

Br. Andrew Brophy, OFM, from Philadelphia, PA is both the Personal secretary to the Provincial Ministry and Corporation Secretary. He has taught high school, worked in the Development Office, served as local minister, and worked at St. Francis Mission in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Most recently he has served, by appointment of the Minister General in Rome, as Visitor General to the Franciscan Provinces in Ireland, Australia and South Korea.

What We Do

Pretty much anything according to St. Francis -- making sure the spirit of prayer is not extinguished.

To this end, the members of the Assumption Province are doing ministry (working) in parishes, schools, hospital and sisters chaplaincies, construction, web designer, and soup kitchens. Historically they have ventured into many exciting areas of work.

It is an historical charactertistic of the Franciscan Order that the friars are with the people. This presence can occur on many levels. It is limited only by the imagination of the friar and the current administration.
